The construction sector is witnessing important changes. Bids for public works of construction must already incorporate BIM requirements from December 17, 2018 and, for new infrastructures, the obligation will be effective as of July 26, 2019 (Ministry of Development). Already, large private projects are being executed in accordance with the requirements of this new methodology.
BIMtour is an initiative to help the largest number of agents in the AECO sector in their transition process towards working models according to the requirements demanded by the introduction of these methodologies and technologies in the Territory / Construction 4.0 relation.
Objective of the day
- Present what BIM is, how to implement it, what tools are necessary (hardware, software and systems) and how this new methodology will contribute to the transformation of projecting, building and maintaining of buildings and infrastructures.
- The objective of the session is to present a strategic approach to the impacts that BIM will have on public administrations both in present times and looking forward. Emphasis will be placed on the effect BIM is generating in the academic fields, particularly on university degrees, postgraduate studies, and professional training.
- BIM is creating a shift in the labor market and schools and universities must provide adequate job pathways in order to facilitate this.

A manager, technician or professional with responsibilities in the areas of electronic administration, urban planning, architecture and new work, rebuild (existing work and cataloged heritage) or environment, or considering the obligation of the new Contract Law of the Public sector since its entry into the workforce on March 8th, 2018. Also for elected representatives of any administration with responsibilities or interests in the areas related to urbanism and Smart Cities.
