SCHEDULE
Afternoon Session (3:30pm to 7:00pm)
The construction sector is witnessing important changes and all agents in the AECO sector must migrate towards BIM processes and standards to maintain their competitiveness in both local and international markets.
As of the 17th of December, 2018, it has been mandatory for bids for public building work to incorporate BIM requirements. For infrastructures, the mandate will come into effect on the 26th of July, 2019 (Ministry of Development). Owners and private promoters, particularly those linked to important national and foreign projects, and the future operators of large buildings (hospitals, hotels, sports halls etc.) and infrastructures (highways, ports, airports, railway lines etc.) are also demanding the use of BIM in their projects.
BIMtour is an initiative to aid the largest number of agents in the AECO sector with their transition towards creating working models in accordance with the requirements demanded by Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0.
Objective of the day
The three-hour conference will present what BIM is, tips to implement it in an easy way, what tools are necessary (hardware, software and systems) and how this new methodology will contribute to transforming the way of projecting, building and maintaining buildings and infrastructures. It will also present the latest developments in the relationship between BIM and GIS.
