On the 20th of April, the BIMtour session, “BIM for Technicians”, was held in the Col·legi d’Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tecnics I Enginyers d’Edificacio de Tarragona.

During the three-hour-day, the speakers explained what BIM is, tips to implement it in an easy way, some of the tools available to implement and use it, and how BIM transforms the projecting, building, and maintaining of buildings and infrastructures.

BIM for technicians

The day began with Ignasi Pérez Arnal ( BIM Academy ) explaining what BIM is and the meaning of Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0.  Jordi Gatell from the Gatell Engineering Group , spoke of how to make Little BIM, that is, how small children can start working with BIM. From Ogun, Maria Jose Reche her company’s approach to the planning of work and the control of times in the building process.  FARO’s Diego Mosquero presented a case study of how laser applications can be used in BIM to resolve conflicts.  Different ecosystems that can be found on a construction site and in an office were spoken about by Ionna Alasua (Graphisoft).  At the end of the day, Alex Javanpour (Bluebeam) showed the session attendees how to maximize productivity and efficiency with BIM.
